I was born in Poland. I made my way to this country with my parents when I was around 10 years of age. We came by ship and our ship cracked in the middle of the night. We were very fortunate in that we were close to New York when that happened and "life boats" saved us. It was quite a horricfic event, but no one died.
Our transition to the United States went well. I soon had many new friends. My mom told me to forget Polish, and German; "only speak English", so I did.
I did such a great job learning enlish, I don't even have an accent.
I soon became active in school. I was a "cheerleader" in high school. I went to Oakland Technical High, in Oakland.
After high school, I went to San Jose State, and then San Francisco State University. I graduated with a BA as a teacher. I taught in Pacifica, CA.
We moved to Mill Valley in 1971 and have lived here since. My husband, Charles Schaffer and I have two children that were born in Marin County.
I have a cat named "kiki" whom we pamper all the time...too much, in fact.
I have been in real estate for almost 30 years. I love it. My clients end up being some of my best friends.I am a very good listener and work very hard to find the right home for my clients. In fact, once they move into it, they never leave, unless they have to.
What sets me apart from my peers is that I am fun to be with. I have a good personality, and time goes by quickly. I make buying a home fun.
