Steven Mavromihalis has been assisting clients with their residential and investment property needs since joining Pacific Union in 1986. Steven co-founded Byzantium Properties in 2002, a San Francisco based real estate private equity firm, with business partner Gil Fleitas, investing in a variety of real estate related enterprises. Supported by a highly specialized team, Steven has built one of the company's most successful commercial and residential brokerage practices. Working in true business partnership, their team provides each client with highly individualized service.
Steven has consistently ranked among Pacific Union's top performing brokers, setting record sale prices for both residential income and luxury homes over the span of two decades. In 2001, Steven was named Pacific Union's #1 Top Producer and also received the Agents' Choice Award as chosen by his colleagues. Every year since, Steven and Byzantium have been named Pacific Union's #1 Top Producing Team.
In 1992, Steven became a founding board member of the Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) in San Francisco. The program provides prenatal care to homeless women and supports their efforts to conquer substance abuse and find housing and stable employment. The program received the nationally recognized Lighthouse Award for excellence in 2000, San Francisco Foundation's highest achievement award in 2002, and the Robert Wood Johnson Award for Excellence in 2003. Steven is past President and remained an active member of the program's Board of Directors for more than 15 years.
As an alumnus of both UC Berkeley and Stanford (BA Economics with honors '82, BA Rhetoric with highest honors '82, MA Rhetoric '83 and MA History '95), Steven enjoys reading and writing about history and is on the Advisory Board of Stanford’s Humanity Center where he envisioned and promoted the endowment of a joint chair in Classics and Political Science. He and his wife Vickie, an attorney-at-law (Boalt Hall, '90), find their greatest joy in spending time with each other and their four young children, Franklin, Nicole, Georgia and Constantine.
Steven's other noteworthy achievements include spending two years on the Greek National Fencing Team, where he was a multiple medalist in international competition.
He enjoys restoring and racing vintage cars, motorcycles, and sailboats with his sons and close friends.
